BCO holding wine tasting Oct. 5

Bristol Community Organization (BCO) will host a wine tTasting fund raiser on Friday, Oct. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m at Nuchies Restaurant in the Forestville section ofBristol.

BCO is a federally designated anti-poverty agency which serves low income, elderly, and disabled residents ofBristol,Burlington,Farmington,Plainvilleand Plymouth-Terryville. BCO provides transportation to many senior citizens who need transportation to medical appointments. 

This year, proceeds from the Wine Tasting will go toward the funding of a new van for the transportation program. BCO was awarded a grant of $40,000 from the Department of Transportation toward the purchase of the new van. BCO must raise another $12,000 as matching funds to complete the funding for the van.

The event will offer a diverse, reasonably priced selection of wines and an Italian appetizer table of hearty hors d’oeuves. In addition, there will be a teacup auction of interesting gift baskets, gift certificates, and other items.

Tickets to the event are $25 if purchased before the event and $30 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at BCO,55 South St.,Bristoland the Maple End Package Store,192 North St.,Bristol.
