Bristol Leaf Collection

City Hall and the Bristol Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, Oct. 8, in honor of Columbus Day, and there will be no curbside collections on Monday. Rubbish, recycling and yard waste collection will be one day later than normal during the week of the Columbus Day Holiday. Friday collections will be done on Saturday, Oct. 13. City Hall and the Transfer Station will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Fall leaf bag collection will begin on Monday, Oct. 15 and continue through the month of November. During this time, leaf bags are collected on the normal rubbish collection day. Place bags at the curb by 6 a.m. on your collection day. Leaf bag collection is available to all city residences eligible for curbside rubbish and recycling services.
Leaves are only collected in brown, recyclable, paper leaf bags that are available at most home and garden stores. There is no maximum limit to leaf bag collection at a residence, and leaf bags containing dirt, sand, rocks, sod, or materials other than leaves will not be collected. Bags must be placed curbside and not within the residence’s property for proper collection, and loose leaf piles will not be collected.
