CERT holds photo contest to commemorate storms

The Bristol CERT Team (Community Emergency Response Team) is sponsoring a photo contest commemorating the first anniversary of Hurricane Irene and the October Halloween snow storm. They are looking for photos that “capture the essence” of both these storms, from devastation to triumph as, well as “neighbors helping neighbors”.
There are cash prizes for the top 3 photos $50 dollars for first place, $25 dollars for second place and $15 dollars for third place. This contest is for amateurs, only. There is a $10 entry fee, which must be submitted with each photo entered. All photos must be 8” x 10” with the participant’s name, address and phone number on the back. All photos must be suitably matted by the participant. No frames are allowed.
Application forms can be downloaded at: www.bristolcert.com or picked up at the Mayor’s Office at City Hall.
The photos will be on display on Nov. 1 at the Bristol Public Library. Proceeds from this contest will benefit the Bristol Community Emergency Response Team with emergency management preparations and training.
