Two robberies in Bristol Wednesday evening

There were two separate robberies that happened around the same time Wednesday evening. The first occurred at Two Brothers Restaurant, 962 Pine St., at about 9 p.m. A press release said Cliffton Richardson, 30, and Lewonda Jones, 39, were taken into custody after police tracked them down after they held up the restaurant. Cliffton and Jones were wearing masks and showing off handguns and held up the restaurant as workers were closing the establishment. A witness was able to mark down their license plate number as they fled the scene, and Bristol police used GPS technology and located the suspects on East View Street in Bristol.
Cliffton and Jones were both charged with first degree robbery and second degree larceny and were each held on a $150,000 bond. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
The second incident happened at the Subway Restaurant, 156 Farmington Ave. A man wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue sweatpants and a Boston Red Sox baseball cap walked into the restaurant and demanded that the clerk open the cash register, the release said. Two employees ran to the back of the store and the suspect walked out without taking anything. The suspect, the release said, had motioned there was a weapon, however employees said the never saw one. The release said one of the employees saw a red pick-up truck leaving the parking lot after the suspect left, but no license plate was seen.
Anyone who may have information regarding either of these two incidents is asked to contact the Bristol Police Criminal Investigation Division at (860)314-4561.
