Mayor offers his holiday message

Mayor Art Ward issued the following holiday message…
This Holiday Season, I hope you will join me in taking a moment to express appreciation for the most precious of gifts, life, love, peace and happiness. These gifts can be taken from us in an instant, as we have witnessed in the tragedy at Newtown, Connecticut.
Let us make it our resolve this holiday season to love more deeply, to laugh longer, to care more sincerely. Let us be grateful to the soldiers and their families who will spend this season apart so our families can gather and worship in freedom.
Now is also an opportunity to reflect on the happiness that comes from giving to others in the community. So many Americans continue to face economic hardship. Giving unto others is more important now than ever, and I urge you to do your part to extend a helping hand to a neighbor in need.
On behalf of the City Council, I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and best wishes for health and prosperity for you and your family in the New Year.
Peace on Earth, good will toward men.
Arthur J. Ward
Mayor
