Mum Fest open house for potential volunteers planned

January 14, 2013

The Chrysanthemum Festival Committee will be holding an open house for potential volunteers on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 6:15 p.m. at the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, 200 Main St, Bristol.
Mum Festival representatives said volunteering is a great way to help. The committee invited people to share the power of time whether they can give a few hours each month, or a day or two each year.
The Bristol Mum Festival is now in its 52nd year of extending to the community a variety of events here in Bristol. The committee is looking for volunteers to assist in helping with the activities it provides to the public at the festival. The past few years brought several new and exciting events and the committee is always looking for new ideas.
Fall Events include: the Miss Mum Pageant; the Mum Festival Parade; Chrysanthemum Festival Weekend (free activities for the family); Open houses at local public and private organizations; yearly fundraisers; pasta dinner; Mum Bingo, and other events to be announced.
If you are interested in joining and cannot attend the open house, please contact: Elliot Nelson at (860)583-4879 or (860) 302-8370 or Sandy Ministro at (860)582-9671 or (860)302-8190.
