Last Saturday, police responded to a reported robbery attempt at the ATM in the lobby of Webster Bank, 632 Farmington Ave., in the Bristol Shopping Plaza.
A press release said an elderly woman and her daughter were attempting to use the ATM when they were approached by a white female in her 20s wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and slippers. The release said the suspect told the elderly woman to “hurry up and get the money and turn it over to her.”
No money was ever exchanged and no injuries or threat of a weapon were reported. The release said the suspect fled the bank on foot walking in a southerly direction towards Farmington Avenue.
As of earlier this week, the incident was being investigated and there were no suspects at that time.
