Councilor offers update on snow removal efforts

February 9, 2013

Councilor Ken Cockayne posted on his Facebook that the efforts of the city to clear the roads is progressing, albeit slowly.

Cockayne wrote:

“Bristol Snow Removal Update: We should have all streets opened to at least one travel lane my mid-morning tomorrow (2/10). Public Works will work through the day pushing back the snow the best they can but will only be able to get the roadways they are able to address with their blowers fully open. The volume of the snow is such that their trucks will be marginally effective pushing the snow back much more tomorrow. Our Public Works Director has informed us that it will take at least two weeks to fully open all of our roads.”

Sorry, Ken. It’s after noon on 2/10 and the two streets our house is on (corner lot) are not yet plowed.

We’ll be patient, but please set realistic expectations…
