On its Facebook page, the Bristol Public Works Department said it’s having the same troubles most residents are… it’s equipment is getting stuck and there’s just too much snow. While residents wait to get cleared out, the department is urging patience.
“Crews have been out working diligently to clear roads, but the depth of the snow and driving winds is preventing us from effectively clearing city streets. We have had more equipment stuck and inoperable than we have had available to do snow removal work.
“We realize this is very frustrating, and we are trying the best we can to make safe passage throughout the city.
Please remember that the state’s directive that roads are closed is still in effect. The emergency parking ban is also still in effect in Bristol.
“We will be back out in the early morning hours tomorrow when the winds subside and the temperatures warm and hope to be able to complete snow removal activities then.
“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through the aftermath of this historical winter storm.”
