Three injured in late night crash

Late Thursday night three individuals were injured in a two-car crash in the area of 700 Middle Street. A press release said two vehicles collided head-on in the area of Mountain Road.
Melissa Plourde, 21 of Bristol was operating at 2010 Chevy Cobalt heading west on Mountain Road, and Andrew Wright, 24, of Southington was the front seat passenger, the release said.
The second vehicle, operated by Hammou Sabir, 37 of Middletown, was a 2001 BMW X5 heading east on Mountain Road. Sabir was the lone occupant in the vehicle.
“Plourde, Wright, and Sabir were all injured during the collision,” the release said, and Wright had a serious chest injury and Plourde had a minor head injury, and both were transported to a Hartford area hospital. Sabir had a minor wrist injury and declined medical treatment at the scene.
The Traffic Division START Unit (Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team) responded to the crash and initiated the investigation. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene.
At this time, the investigation is continuing and no enforcement action has been taken.
