Bristol Historical Society’s annual “Evening on the Hill” fund raising auction is slated Friday, Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds of the auction support the society, which includes the HistoricalSocietyMuseum, MilitaryMuseum and Bristol Sports Hall of Fame.
“This is a fun evening out for a great cause,” said Bristol Historical Society President Tom Dickau in a press release from the society. “Proceeds benefit our ongoing programs, and we have a great mix of items. There is something for everyone.”
An “Evening on the Hill” features a silent auction followed by a live auction. Guests will have a chance to bid on items such as vintage steamer trunks, a antique baby carriages, wicker and more. The auction will start with cocktails, an Italian sampler table, the auction preview and silent auction bidding at 5:30 p.m. followed by the live auction at 7 p.m.
“This is a fun evening out with great food and drink,” said Maya Bringe and Ellen Zoppo, co-chairs of this year’s event, in the release. “The event will again feature guest auctioneer Paul Stansel who keeps the evening fun with his entertaining dialogue.”
Previous auctions have raised thousands of dollars resulting in interesting exhibits, lectures and other programming over the years.
Tickets to this event are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the HistoricalSocietyMuseum during open hours on Wednesday mornings or Saturday afternoons. Auction sponsorships and donations are appreciated and accepted.
