Parks and Rec. offers Halloween activities

Celebrate Halloween with the BristolParks and Recreation Department this year. The department is offering three special events including the annual Halloween Carnival & Costume Parade, Family Float Fright Night, and the brand new Howl N’ Prowl Dog Costume Parade.

Thursday, Oct. 24- Howl N’ Prowl Dog Costume Parade

Bring your well behaved K-9s out for the first Howl N’ Prowl Dog Costume Parade on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at RockwellPark. Dog owners are encouraged to dress up their hounds for a fun night out and a chance to win some great prizes. Judging station will be set up at the RockwellPark amphitheater where you will check in for the event. At 6:30 p.m., go on a stroll through the park meeting back at the amphitheater for award of exciting prizes. Howl N’ Prowl is sponsored by Paw Street Barkery, a local organic pet treat bakery, that has donated its time, along with prize baskets (value $25 to $50 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places). There will be music and raffles throughout the evening.

The event is completely free but we will be accepting donations to go to the BristolDogPark and future “dog programs and events.” For any questions, contact Joshua Medeiros, Recreation Coordinator at or (860)584-6160.
