New traffic pattern at Redstone and Rogers

October 3, 2013

Drivers will notice a new traffic pattern at the intersection of Redstone Street, Rogers Road and West Broad Street in Plainville.

After being redesigned, the intersection now forms a typical T-intersection.

With the change, Redstone Street and Rogers Road will be the through roadways. When a motorist passes through this intersection on either road, no traffic controls will be posted.

The stop sign that is currently posted on Rogers Road for northbound traffic will be eliminated.

A new stop sign will be posted on West Broad Street for motorists heading west bound. A motorist traveling west on West Broad Street must stop at the intersection and grant the right of way to any vehicle in or approaching the intersection.

As the previous traffic control posted at the intersection was unconventional, the change should improve traffic flow through the area.

Bristol police officers will be monitoring the area for violations.
