New administration sworn in Monday

For the first time in six years, the City of Bristol has a new mayor who was sworn in last Monday evening. Republican Mayor Ken Cockayne was elected to be mayor of the city on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and was officially named mayor Monday evening at a swearing in ceremony at Chippens Hill Middle School. Also sworn in last Monday evening were council members Eric Carlson, Calvin Brown, Henri Martin, Richard Miecznikowski, Mary Fortier and Ellen Zoppo-Sassu. Carlson and Martin were the only incumbents re-elected on Nov. 5. Others sworn in were Constables and members of the Board of Assessment Appeals.
The new administration was sworn in the night before its first City Council meeting, which will be held tonight, Tuesday Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall.
