Bristol Eastern running back Gerry Ouellette rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns as Bristol Eastern won its annual Thanksgiving Day game over rival Bristol Central by a 21-18 final from Muzzy Field in Bristol.

It was the seventh straight Thanksgiving Day victory for the Lancers over the Rams.

Tyler Burrow rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown for Central while quarterback Jarrett Michaels made 11-of-26 passes for 127 yards and threw for two touchdowns.

The Rams ended its campaign at 4-6.

Central took the initial lead in the game off a rushing touchdown by Burrow but Ouellette quickly raced one in, giving Eastern a 7-6 edge with just over five minutes left to play in the first period.

It was a lead the Lancers never relinquished as Eastern held on to win the showdown by three points.

Ouellette finished the season for Eastern with 1,388 rushing yards.

Even in the victorious effort, Eastern’s playoff chances were dashed as the squad placed ninth in the Class L field, just 10 points behind eighth place finisher Daniel Hand.

The top eight teams in each class qualify for state tournament play.
