Two teens arrested after Thanksgiving Day burglary

Bristol police arrested two teenagers on Thanksgiving who are suspected to have burglarized a home on Blakeslee Street.
A juvenile and 18-year-old Anthony Carrero, of 16 Harrison St., were arrested Thursday evening and charged with first degree burglary, first degree conspiracy to commit burglary, third degree larceny, and third degree conspiracy to commit larceny. Carrero was additionally charged with possession of burglar’s tools and interfering with an officer, and was held on a $200,000 bond. The juvenile was turned over to the custody of a parent and referred to Juvenile Court.
Just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the area of Blakeslee Street and Stage Coach Road, after a homeowner reported his residence had just been burglarized. A press release said an off-duty Connecticut state trooper reported seeing two males in the area, who were wearing all black and carrying backpacks and acting suspiciously. When the males saw the trooper, they ducked into the nearby woods, the release said.
After the call from the homeowner, K-9 Officer Lance Podlesney saw two males fitting the description walking north on Queen Street in the area of High Street. When the officer attempted to interview the males, they continued to walk away and eventually ran. After the officer chased the two suspects, he was able to capture them.
