Last Friday, families streamed into Lake Compounce for the opening night of its “Holiday Lights” attraction.
It was a chilly night but there were plenty of people checking out everything from the light show at the entrance to the park (complete with soaring holiday tunes) to lining up in the Starlight Ballroom to meet with special guest Santa Claus.
Many of the rides for the children were open such as Zoomers’ Gas and Go. There also were special attractions such as “Winter Wonderland,” “Santa’s Toy Shop,” “The North Pole Railway,” “Story Time With Mrs. Claus,” and more.
Additionally, there were winter-appropriate foods such as egg nog, hot chocolate, soup in a bread bowl, milk and cookies, etc. being sold at vending booths along the way.
And with all the lights, the park proved to a perfect backdrop for many families to take photographs for that just perfect Christmas cards.
The Holiday Lights attraction is open at Compounce on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays and 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays until Dec. 22. Admission is $14.99 for adults, $10.99 for children 10 and younger, and children 3 and under are admitted free.
