Mayor releases statement on the passing of Bill Englert

Mayor Ken Cockayne released a statement on the passing of Bill Englert, owner of City True Value and Just Ask Rental, who was also a longtime, prominent volunteer in the city.
“When it comes to the issue of volunteering this past week the City of Bristol took a hit with the passing of Bill Englert.
Bill has an active member of our community always giving of his time and talent to various civic organizations in our community. Along with his generosity as a successful business owner, Bill has been one of the pioneers in Bristol who have made our community flourish.
One behalf of a very grateful city, I wish to extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, Rosemarie and family during this very difficult time. Bill lost a courageous battle to prostate cancer, however during his illness he still put the community first and we will forever be in is debt as a city.
In his spirit, I ask that all Bristol residents spend time in 2014 giving back to their community by volunteering to serve in a government, religious or non-profit position. Bill’s contributions have not gone unnoticed and he was truly an asset to the City of Bristol.”
