Story time activities at city’s libraries start Feb.

The Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library and the F.N. Manross Memorial Library invites children 0-12 years to participate in Winter/Spring story time and reading club programs starting Monday, Feb. 3 and ending the week of April 7.

The programs are free, registration is not required in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library (5 High St.), but registration is required at the F.N. Manross Memorial Library (260 Central Street). There are no story time or reading club programs during the April school vacation week.

Baby story time for children 0 to 12 months meets every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and every Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library, and every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the F.N. Manross Memorial Library. Babies hear stories and music, and meet other babies. The baby story time is a great way for young parents to meet other new parents in the community.

Toddler time for children 12 to 24 months meets every Tuesday at 10 a.m., every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., and every Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library.  Very young children are introduced to simple stories, nursery rhymes, music and movement, and interactive play.

Story time for 2- and 3-year-olds meets every Tuesday at 11 a.m., every Wednesday at 11 a.m., every Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library, and every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the F.N. Manross Memorial Library. Young children hear stories, move to music, and participate in the storytelling.

New—Sensory Story Tots for 2 to 5 year olds meets every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the F.N. Manross Memorial Library. This is a program for children with autism or sensory processing disorders, and for children who might do better with more active learning and in smaller groups. Story time for 3 and 4 year olds meets every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library, and every Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the F.N. Manross Memorial Library. Registration is required. Call (860)584-7790.

Play and Learn fun for 3 and 4 year olds meets every Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the F.N. Manross Memorial Library. Hear stories, play games, move around, and make new friends. Registration is required, please call (860)584-7790.

Story time for 4 and 5 year olds meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. and at 3:45 p.m.; and every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library. Children listen to stories, dance to music, and have fun making new friends.

Super Heroes Club for boys 4 years and older meets every Monday at 4 p.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library. All boys are invited to hear Super Heroes stories and become super hero readers.

Cheerleader Reader Club for girls 6 years and older meets every Monday at 4 p.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library. Girls learn all about cheerleading and get their very own pom-poms.

Globetrotters Club meets every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. for kids 9 years and older in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library. Zip around the world in stories, crafts, and more.

Homework Club meets every Monday to Thursday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library. Children are encouraged to do homework at the library. Library staff will check to see if all homework is complete.

Shop Rite Story times are every Thursday and Friday at 3:45 p.m. in Scrunchy’s Playroom at Shop Rite of Bristol.

Saturday Stories, Crafts, and Game Days will be held Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library on a Saturday.

Come to the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library, 5 High St., and have fun. All story time and reading club programs are free and open to all children.

There is no need to register, all programs are drop-in.

When school is canceled due to inclement weather, so are public library story time programs.
