Youth sports offered by Parks and Rec. this spring

BristolParks and Recreation will offer a variety of youth sport programs this spring.

BristolParks and Recreation will be offering a variety of youth sport programs for all ages and abilities.

Boys 3 on 3 Basketball- Boys ages 9 to 12 years will work on skills and play organized 3-on-3 games each week. The program meets at Chippens Hill Middle School Gymnasium on Mondays March 31-May 12 (no class April 14) from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. for six weeks. Fee is $30 for the session.

Flag Football- Youth grades 3 to 8 grade will learn proper throwing and catching techniques while building team work and enjoying the game of flag football. The program meets at ChippensHillMiddle School gym on Fridays April 4 to May 16 (no class April 18) for six weeks. Grades 3 and 4 meet 6 to 6:45 p.m. Grades 5 to 8 meet 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. or 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. Fee is $30 for the session.

Lil Basketball- Youth ages 6 to 8 years old will play organized 3-on-3 games at low hoops to begin to learn the game of basketball. Program meets at Chippens Hill Middle School Gym on Saturdays either from 10 tp 10:45 a.m. or 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. April 5 to  May 10 for six weeks. Fee is $30 for the session.

Mini Hoops Basketball- Youth ages 3 to 5 years will be introduced to the sport of basketball in a friendly, safe, and fun environment. Kids will learn skills and techniques through a variety of activities and games. Program meets at CHMS Gym on Saturdays from either 8:15 to 9 a.m. or 9 to 9:45 a.m. for six weeks April 5 to May 10. Fee is $30 for the session.

Youth Basketball Skills- Youth ages 5 to 8 years old will be taught the skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and if time allows to be introduced to game play in a fun environment. Program meets at ChippensHillMiddle school gym on Mondays at 6 to 6:45 p.m. or 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. for six weeks March 31 to May 12 (no class April 14). Fee is $30 for the session.

Skyhawks Mini Hawk Camp- Soccer, Baseball  Basketball- This multi-sport program gives children ages 4 to 7 (must be 4 when program starts) a positive first step into athletics. Baseball, basketball, and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment. The mini hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Class meets Tuesdays 6 to 7 p.m. for five weeks April 1 to 29 at Stafford School Gym. Fee is $59 for the session.

Skyhawks Tiny Hawk Camp- Soccer and Basketball- Tiny Hawk Camp is for boys and girls ages 3 to 4 years old (must be 3 when program starts). Soccer and basketball are introduced in a fun, safe environment with lots of encouragement. Children will learn balance, body movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development through a series of sport specific games. A parent must be on site during the program. Class meets Tuesdays 5 to 5:50 p.m. for five weeks April 1 to 29 at Stafford School Gym. Fee is $59 for the session.

Sports FUN- Youth ages 6 to 12 years will enjoy a medley of exciting sports each week including: wiffleball, dodgeball, soccer, basketball and more. The program meets at Stafford School Gym on Thursday evenings for six weeks March 27 to May 8. Children ages 6 to 9 years meet 5:15 to 6 p.m., children ages 10 to 12 years meet 6 to 6:45 p.m.. Fee is $30 for the session.

Tiny Feet Soccer- An innovative sports and exercise program for children ages 3 to 6 years. Class utilizes shapes, colors, and sound to visually stimulate children as they explore various movements, thus enhancing their motor development while introducing the basics of soccer. Program meets at Stafford School Gym for six weeks March 22 to May 10 (no class March 29). Classes include Teeny Tiny Feet (3 to 4 years) this program is for parents and children, Tots Tiny Feet (4 to 5 years), and Little Tiny Feet (5 to 6). Class times are as follows Teeny-9 to 9:45, Tots- 9:45 to 10:30, Little-10:30 to 11:15. Fee is $55 for the session.
