Program on Lymphedema Management offered March 13

March 7, 2014

Sheriden Woods Health Care Center at 321 Stonecrest Dr., Bristol will be having a special presentation on Thursday, March 13. Todd J. Palladino, OTR/L Director of Rehabilitation, will be doing a talk on Lymphedema Management. This therapy is now being offered at Sheriden Woods to treat individuals who have problems with their lymph drainage system. The facility offers Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) which is the most effective approach to treat chronic lymphedema. CDT is a gentle, non-invasive, and highly effective therapy.
Palladino has been trained and certified in the four components of Complete Decongestive Therapy (Manual Lymph Drainage), compression therapy, exercises, and skin care. With this certification Todd is now able to establish a CDT treatment plan for individuals with primary or secondary lymphedema and perform the indicated treatment. We honored to be able to offer this treatment to our current and new residents.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. and an opportunity to ask questions will be available. Pre-registration is required by calling the facility at (860)583-1827, or emailing Rebecca Berkowitz at outreach@sheridenwoodshcc.com. Light refreshments will be served.
