Before the magic of the runway began

The material may have been trash.

But when organizers, designers, and artists mounted the annual Trashion Fashion Show at the Hartford City Hall on April 19, they treated the garments like goal.

This included organizing an army of hair stylists and makeup artists to primp and prep the bevy of models, which included aspirants to the fashion industry as well as a slew of ballerinas and dancers. And the organizers also provided ample time for rehearsal so the models had their catwalk choreography down pat before the crowds arrived.

Here is a peek at behind the scenes before the show began on Sunday.
