Undefeated Rams knock off Berlin, Mills

BRISTOL – The Bristol Central boys track team participated in a “double-shot” this week, taking on both conference and no-conference team alike.
On Tuesday, April 22, the Rams sunk Berlin 110-40 while two days later, Central beat Lewis Mills of the Berkshire League 124-25 – both in home meets from Bristol Central High School.
The undefeated Rams took all the relay events against each squad while in the jumping events, the Rams were just as sharp.
In the 4×800 relay, the squad of Andrew Damon-Smith, Josh Signore, Justin Zaino and Andrew Marcantonio won the race against both schools and had a finish of 9:17.8 against Berlin.
A different foursome of Damon-Smith, Gordon, Justin Zaino, and Andrew Marcantonio won the 4×400 event against the Redcoats, winning the race in 3:45. 
In the short distance sprint relay, the combination of Ty Watson, Drew Lee, Tyler Burrow and Keon Walton took its race against Berlin in 45.55 seconds.
In the hurdle events, Will Tolliver and Jaavon defeated all the competition in the 110 and 300 meter events, respectively.
Tolliver beat the leapers of Lewis Mills in 16.41 seconds while Gordon flashed a winning time of 45.59 seconds in the 300.
Walton ruled in the 100 and 200 meter sprints as he burned Mills in the 100 (11.36 seconds) and 200 (24.03) events.
In the quarter-mile challenge, Jason Zaino (55.59 seconds) defeated the competition against Berlin while D’Andre Conaway (55.69) sank Mills.
Signore won the mile against both squads, zipping up a 4:50 finish against Berlin; while in the half-mile, Justin Zaino (2:08) sank Berlin and Damon-Smith (2:12) took first against Mills.
The two-mile belonged to Signore as he sunk Berlin in 10:30; while Tolliver was a victor in the long and triple jumps.
Against Berlin, Tolliver won the long (19-2.75) and triple (41-6); while slick Ty Hamel took the high jump against the Spartans with a victorious leap of five feet, six inches.
Against the Redcoats, Adam Flores (122-0) won the javelin; while Josh Moxam (39-9.5) took the shot put.
Finally, Matt Pitman took firsts in each pole vault challenge and against Berlin, he cleared 10-6 for the winning mark.
