Bristol Parks and Recreation will be offering the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program at Page and Rockwell Pools this summer. Classes will meet Monday to Friday for two weeks or Saturdays for eight weeks. The fee is $45 for residents or $55 for non-residents.
Session 1: June 30 to July 11 (Monday to Friday for two weeks).
Session 2: July 14 to July 25 (Monday to Friday for two weeks).
Session 3: July 28 to Aug. 8 (Monday to Friday for two weeks).
Session 4: Aug. 11 to Aug. 22 (Monday to Friday for two weeks).
*Classes will be held on Friday, July 4.
Saturday Session: June 28 to Aug. 16. (Once a week for eight weeks).
Special needs lessons are available for youth and adults on Saturdays 12 to 12:30 p.m.

PRIVATE LESSONS: A set of four, 30 minute 1-on-1 instruction with a certified Red Cross Water Safety instructor is also available to adults and children ages 5 and up at the Dennis Malone Aquatic Center. Monday to Sunday upon request. (Must register in person. The fee is $80 for residents or $120 for non-residents).
SUMMER SPLASH SWIM TEAM: A competitive swim team, Splash is available for youth ages 6 to 18. Practices are held weekday mornings June 30 to Aug. 2. The team competes in the Central Connecticut Swim League with meets held on weekday evenings. Please see www.bristolrec.com for a full list of details. The fee is $30 in addition to a pool membership.
LIFEGUARD AND WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR COURSES: Courses will feature both classroom style lectures, video and in water skill training. See www.bristolrec.com for course schedules, fees and requirements.
SUMMER WATER EXERCISE: Offering a variety of levels for all abilities including our popular Aqua Zumba. Classes are offered Monday to Thursday mornings 10:30-11:15am or Monday Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 6:15 to 7 p.m. The seven-week program is $25 or try the Gold Fitness Pass for $75 to take any/every class in the session. PUBLIC SWIMMING POOLS OPENING SOON: The Bristol Parks and Recreation Department has two outdoor swimming areas during the summer, Rockwell Park Pool and Page Park Pool. Both facilities will be open to the public June 28 to Aug. 24 with open swim hours daily from 1 to 7 p.m. The indoor facility, the Dennis Malone Aquatic Center, located at 325 Mix St. Bristol, CT is open year round.
