DWI checkpoint Friday night on Route 229

June 12, 2014

During the evening of June 13, Bristol police announced officers will be conducting a DWI checkpoint in the area of Rt. 229. This is part of a federal grant to combat drunk driving, the police said in a news release. The ultimate purpose of a checkpoint is to reduce the number of drunk drivers on the highways, said Bristol police. By eliminating impaired operators, incidences of damage, injuries and deaths will be reduced, said the release.
