After being shut down yesterday before noon and remaining closed throughout the night, Bristol Police reported that Route 6, between Camp Street and Stafford Avenue, is now open.
Late Monday morning, Bristol police responded to a two- vehicle accident on Farmington Avenue (Route 6) that left the road closed from 11 .am. until 7 a.m. Tuesday, reported Lieutenant Donn Watson. A vehicle, which was struck from behind, came to rest on its roof after striking a telephone pole, and electrical wires that went down blocked the roadway, according to a release from the Bristol Police Department. One of the vehicles involved in the accident was a pick-up truck, and the driver of that vehicle sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. The other vehicle involved in the accident has not yet been identified.
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the accident, which also left power outages in the area.
