The City of Bristol is currently in the process of reconstructing Waterbury Road, the Department of Public Works reported Thursday morning. Work commenced at the intersection of Waterbury Road and Terryville Road and has consisted of installation of storm drainage, retaining wall installation, and pulverization of the roadway surface.
The department said the next step in the reconstruction process is to regrade the disturbed section of the roadway. In order to improve safety, a news release from the department said, the city has authorized the contractor to close the portion of Waterbury Road from Tower Road to Terryville Road during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 21, Tuesday, July 22, and Wednesday, July 23.
The roadway will reopen to traffic at the end of each day.
During the road closure school buses, mail trucks, emergency vehicles, and traffic to businesses will be allowed to pass.
The department apologized in advance for any inconvenience associated with the proposed road closure and appreciates your cooperation, said the release.
