The BristolBoys & GirlsClubFamilyCenter will be hosting the Rookie and Clemente League World Series games on Monday, Aug. 18 at Muzzy Field. The Rookie League is a baseball program for boys & girls ages 5-8 years old. It’s a bridge between tee-ball and live pitching where kids acquire the basic fundamentals of baseball. The league is coached by Bristol high school and collegiate standout players. Teams include: The Red Sox, Yankees, Royals and Pirates.
The Roberto Clemente baseball league is another of the club’s programs geared towards sportsmanship, respect, and the development of fundamental baseball skills. The games are played at the club’s Cambridge Park Unit located in Davis Drive. The league has four teams including the Pirates, Yankees, Royals and Red Sox coached by the Bristol Police Department, Bristol Youth Services, and Bristol Boys & Girls Club staff.
On Monday, Aug. 18, the games will be played at Muzzy Field.
Admission is free.
9 to 10:30 a.m.: 2 Rookie League World Series play
10:30 to 11 a.m. Award ceremony that includes all Rookie and Clemente League players.
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Roberto Clemente World Series play.
