Woman assaulted, robbed near Vance Dr. this morning

A woman was assaulted and robbed with a weapon in the area of Vance Road early Wednesday morning, police reported

At about 4:27 a.m. this morning, police said officers were dispatched to a call of a robbery with a weapon in the Vance Road area.  Police said the female, 37, stated she was walking from her sister’s home on Davis Drive to her uncle’s home on Vance Drive when she was attacked by two males who were dressed all in black. The woman told police one assailant grabbed her by the hair while the other punched her several times in the face.  Police said the woman stated she was cut on her right forearm with some type of edged weapon. 

The victim suffered lacerations to the inside and outside of her mouth as well as a 4 inch laceration to her right forearm, police said. EMS was called to the scene and the victim was transported to the Bristol Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Police said the woman continued to the home of her uncle on Vance Drive and reported the robbery from that location.

Police said the woman’s assailants made off on foot in a westerly direction on Vance Road. Police said the assailants stole an undetermined amount of cash.

Police said at this time there are no suspects in the robbery incident.
