Barley Vine, Onyx team up for ‘Summer Shine’

Onyx Spirits Company is partnering with Bristol gastro pub Barley Vine to host the second annual “Summer Shine” event.

“We’ll be featuring award winning Onyx Moonshine cocktails and infusions along with Onyx 111, Onyx Cape Cod Cranberry and their rarest release, Secret Stash – Connecticut’s first barrel-aged whiskey,” said Terry Lugo, owner of Barley Vine in a press release. “We’ll also feature Caribbean food specials such as Jamaican beef patties, jerk chicken, rice with gungo peas, and Latin rice and beans with roasted pork, to name a few,” she added, according to the news release.

Last year’s event drew over 400 people to downtown Bristol to enjoy Barley Vine’s local cuisine, live music, and Onyx Moonshine cocktails created by renowned Connecticut mixologist, Khalid Williams, said the release.

“Bristol is my home and Barley Vine is my home away from home,” said Onyx Moonshine co-founder, Adam von Gootkin in the press release. “I view Summer Shine as a way to welcome people to Bristol from out of town and invite our friends, family, and customers to celebrate local ingenuity,” he added.

“Summer Shine at Barley Vine” will be open to the public with no admission charge. It will take place on Friday Aug. 22 beginning at 5 p.m.
