BRISTOL – The Bristol Girls Little League softball set the dates for resuming the City Series that came to a halt in June as the weather refused to cooperate.

Scheduling conflicts also made the best-of-three series impossible to play until mid-August, the usual time the tournament takes place every season.

In the championship round, all games took place from McCabe-Waters, Field 3 in Bristol.

Here is the schedule of the tournament:

  • ·Game 1 – Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.
  • ·Game 2 – Aug. 21 at 6 p.m.
  • ·Game 3 if necessary – Aug. 22 at 6 p.m.

Rain dates are Aug. 23 and Aug. 24.

To get to this best-of-three challenge, the Pride and Tigers had to face some tough competition against the Bandits.

In game one, the Pride took care of the Bandits behind a 14-1 final score while in the series second game, the Pride tangled with the Tigers in a very competitive affair.

The Bandits led 8-5 at one point in the contest but in the end, the Tigers notched nine straight runs, leading to a 16-8 victory to qualify for championship play.

In the end, the Pride and Tigers will battle and the squad that can wrangle up two victories will earn the 2014 Bristol Little League Softball City Series Championship trophy.
