The Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library and the F.N. Manross Memorial Library invites children 0-12 years to participate in fall 2014 story time and reading club programs starting Monday, Oct. 6 and ending Friday, Dec. 12.
The programs are free. Registration is not required at the main library on High Street. At the F.N. Manross Memorial Library (260 Central St.), registration is required. Call (860)584-7790 starting Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Story time and reading club programs are cancelled if school is cancelled due to inclement weather.
Baby story time for children 0-12 months meets every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and every Wednesday at 1 p.m. Babies hear stories and music, and meet other babies. The baby story time is a great way for young parents to meet other new parents in the community. At the F.N. Toddler time for children 12-24 months meets every Tuesday at 10 a.m., every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., and every Thursday at 10 a.m. Very young children are introduced to simple stories, nursery rhymes, music and movement, and interactive play.
Story time for 2 and 3 year olds meets every Monday at 10 a.m., every Tuesday at 11 a.m., every Wednesday at 11 a.m., and every Thursday at 11 a.m. Young children hear stories, move to music, and participate in the storytelling!
Story time for 2-5 year olds who like to be in a smaller group, move around and play meets every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the F.N. Manross Memorial Library (registration is required (860)584-7790).
Story time for 3 and 4 year olds meets every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and every Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the F.N. Manross Memorial (registration is required (860)584-7790)! Children listen to stories, dance to music, and have fun making new friends.
Story time for 4 and 5 and 6 year olds meets every Monday at 1:45 p.m.; every Tuesday at 1 p.m.; every Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.; and every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Children listen to stories, dance to music, and have fun making new friends.
I-SPY Club for boys and girls 6 years and older meets every Monday at 4 p.m. All boys and girls are invited to explore and search the library for hidden things!
Crafty Children for children 6 years and older meets every Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Minecraft Club meets every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. for children 9-12 years old. Registration is required for Minecraft as space is limited. The Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library is offering two five week sessions this fall (session 1: Oct. 7-Nov. 4; session 2: Nov. 18-Dec. 16). To register, call the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library at (860)584-7787 ext. 2021 on or after Sept. 29 Children who participated in the summer 2014 Minecraft Club and attended three or more sessions must wait until Sept. 30 to register. Minecraft Club meets in the computer lab at the Bristol Public Library, 5 High St. It is the only reading club program that requires registration at the Main Library.
Wednesday afternoon movies and popcorn at 4 p.m. every Wednesday.
Homework Club meets every Monday to Thursday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Children are encouraged to do homework at the library. Library staff will check to see if all homework is complete. There are prizesevery month for library “home workers.”
All Ages Story time for children 0 to 100 years old meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Family Story time for the whole family meets every Saturday at 10 a.m except on the first Saturday of every month when the library offers “All Day Crafts.”
Shop Rite Story times are every Thursday and Friday at 3:45 p.m. in Scrunchy’s Playroom at Shop Rite of Bristol, 1200 Farmington Ave., Bristol.
All story time and reading club programs in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library (5 High St.) are free and open to all children. There is no need to register. All programs are drop-in.
