ACRYLIC PAINTING CLASS. 10 a.m. to noon. Course is instructed by Abbe Wade, who has over 50 years of experience teaching art around Connecticut. Acrylic is a fun style of painting that gives you the effects of both oils and watercolors. Learn some special techniques to make your paintings stand-out. AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE. 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Covers the effects of aging and medication on driving, local hazards, accident prevention measures, more. Films and discussions will be presented and a driver’s manual provided. No written or on the road test required. Upon completion of the course, an insurance company must give a discount of at least 5 percent on auto insurance. INTRO TO MEDITATION CLASS. 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays. Course is instructed by Jayaprabha Mare who has trained, practiced, and lived a meditative and yogic lifestyle for more than two decades. Perfect for anyone new to meditation. It will provide simple, accessible techniques to foster the skill of conscious and sustained attention, which connects you to the equanimity and objective that allows for internal wisdom, happiness, and peace.
