The Central Connecticut and Bristol Chambers of Commerce announced the selection of Jill Fitzgerald as bookkeeper and accounting manager for the Bristol Chamber of Commerce and the 1,400-member Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce.
In this role, a press release from the chamber explained, Fitzgerald will oversee financial operations and management for the third largest regional Chamber of Commerce in the state, as well as support for the New England Spring and Metalstamping Association. Fitzgerald replaces Reinhardt Malsheske, who retires Nov. 30, 2014, after 22 years of service with the chamber.
Fitzgerald has over 20 years’ experience in accounting and bookkeeping, and most recently served as legislative aide to state senator Jason Welch (R-31st District). With her knowledge of the legislative process and contacts throughout the government and business community, Fitzgerald also will support the chambers’ work with elected officials and agencies at all levels of government to develop and promote key legislative efforts aimed at improving the regional economy, job creation and growth, business competitiveness, and improving the quality of life across our community.
Fitzgerald lives in Bristol with her husband Shawn and will begin her new duties at the Chambers of Commerce, 200 Main St., Bristol, on Nov. 17.
