City announces roadwork at Church, Union, South streets

The City of Bristol has commenced work on the reconstruction of Church, Union, and South streets.

The current work consists of replacing storm drainage on Church Street. The roadways will remain open during the current phase of work, however drivers may experience some delays as traffic is limited to alternating one travel lane during construction.

Starting Monday, May 26 until Wednesday, June 10: Church Street will be closed to all local traffic during the day as a portion of the roadway surface is reconstructed.  Access to emergency services will be maintained at all times. In addition access to the homes and businesses in the affected area will also be maintained at all times during construction. The roadway will be reopened at the end of each work day and for the entire weekend during this period of construction. Drivers are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.

Starting Thursday, June 11, until Wednesday, July 8: Church Street will be reopened to alternating one way traffic during construction.

Additional notifications will be issued to provide information associated with future phases of construction for this project.
