Police report pick up attempt at Page Park

Bristol police are searching for a man who was reported trying to pick up a 17-year-old girl at Page Park today.

According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, the girl reported she was walking westbound past the lower parking lot when she noticed possibly a red Toyota Corolla there. The man, described as a thin Hispanic male in his 20’s wearing a black polo shirt and black hat with diamond earrings, asked the girl how to get to Waterbury because his GPS broke, the release said. The man then asked the girl what size shoe she wore, and said he had shoes in his car if she wanted to go see, the release said. When the man returned to the car, opened the trunk and asked her to come over, the girl ignored him and kept walking, the release said. He then drove off southbound on King Street, according to the release. The man also is described as wearing gray/blue jeans.
