Free lunch program at library this summer

The Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library will be serving free lunches for children 0 to 18 years old this summer. The free lunch program begins on Monday, June 22 and continues through Friday, Aug. 21. Lunches are served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The lunches are nutritious and consist of a sandwich, fruit, vegetables, and milk. The library will provide movies, crafts, and summer reading excitement.  Grown-ups may bring a lunch to enjoy on the “picnic carpet” in the Children’s Department.

Summer preschool programs are welcome to bring students/campers to the library for lunch.  The lunch program is a part of the “Every HERO has a STORY” summer reading program, so every child who has free lunch, receives a summer raffle ticket.

The free lunch program is sponsored by the Bristol Public Library, Whitsons School Nutrition, Food Share, End Hunger CT, and the Connecticut Board of Education.food
