The Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center announced it has been selected to receive a grant from Disney in the amount of $18,000, to implement an extended version of the Youth of the Year Program.
Since 1947, the Youth of the Year Program has been The Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club teens. Club members who earn the Youth of the Year title embody the values of leadership and service; academic excellence; and healthy lifestyles. They exemplify the critical impact that Boys & Girls Clubs have on the lives of young people.
Through this grant from Disney, a press release from the club said it now will serve as a pilot site for the new Youth of the Month and Jr. Youth of the Year programs. Volunteers from Disney will work in collaboration with club staff to implement the program that will recognize and celebrate outstanding youth in our community.
