Hundreds attended the festivities at the 10th Annual Forestville Pumpkin Festival on Sunday.
Several contests were held, cash prize winners included:
The Carved Pumpkin, Best in Show Marie Landrette, second Cari Marchak, and third place Randy Denoto.
The Painted/Decorated Pumpkin category awarded Best in Show to Alex Briere; second place to Rhonda DeNoto; and third Shelley Mastroianni.
The Pet Costume parade Best in Show was Ritzie dressed as an Italian dinner, owner Lisa Kurtz. Second place went to Jen’s dog Rocky portrayed as a king. June’s dogs Misha, a steer rider and Corey a bucking bronco placed third.
In the Adult Costume Parade, awards were Best in Show, Rhonda Denoto as a Scary Scarecrow; second place, Jennifer Atkins, a clown and family; and third went to Salina Schroeder dressed as iron woman and ninja.
The scarecrow contest winners were Best in Show; the Pirate by Tracy Norkun; second place went to the Pumpkin Creeper by Scott McNeal; and Rhonda DeNoto’s Minion placed third.
In a press release, the Pumpkin Festival committee thanked Allied Sanitation, the Bristol Auto Club, Hubbard’s Florists, Nuchie’s, Nye Agency, O’Brien Funeral Home, One Fifty Central, Spare Time Bristol, T D Bank, Tollman Spring and Webster Bank, the Bristol Fire Department, the Parks and Recreation Department, Public Works Department, New England Carousel Museum, the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, E Signs, the Bristol Observer, the Bristol Press, organizations and individuals “who helped make our 10th Annual Forestville Pumpkin Festival a fun filled memorable event.”
