Gaski, of Bristol, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 8th.  Born in Bristol, CT, on January 21, 1936 to the late Peter and Katherine (Buckley) McMahon.  She was a graduate of Bristol High School, where she met and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Edward “Scratch” Gaski.  A lifelong resident of Bristol, she worked as a health aide at Northeast School for 20 years.  Maureen especially loved attending her families’ events, trips to Ireland visiting her “special Irish family”, Island cruises, fun times in Wellfleet, Westbrook, Island Pond, Vermont and Maine.  She enjoyed these special times with family, friends and especially longtime girlfriends from second grade. She is survived by her children, Mark (Barbara), Janice (Jimmy), Geoffrey, Kevin, Debbie and Lisa; thirteen grandchildren, Janessa, Billy (Chrissi), Acacia (JohnMark), Yobel (Matt), Jordan (Katherine), Jeffrey (Luz), Sara (Joe), Thomas (Ali), Mary, Paul, Amanda, Claire, and Elizabeth; eleven great- grandchildren, Dante, Deja, Camryn, Kaci, Kendall, Will, Jordan, Olive, Wesley, Jaycee, and Alina. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Edward, she was pre-deceased by her sister, Marie and brothers, Brian and Jimmy.  She was affectionately called “Honey”, “Bachi” or “Bach” and will always be remembered for her caring, love, devotion and sincere generosity by all who she touched. Words cannot express how much we will miss “Mom” and our “Babcia”. Her love, zeal, and passion for life will always be a real example to those who knew her. Maureen’s funeral will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 9am from DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, followed by a funeral liturgy at 10am in St. Gregory The Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be held Friday from 3-7pm at the funeral home.
