Obituaries: Laurier ‘Larry’ W. Doyon

 

Laurier “Larry” W. Doyon, 82, of Farmington, husband of Jean (Tweeddale) Doyon, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at UConn Health Center, Farmington.  Larry was born in Waterville, ME on December 23, 1933 and was a son of the late Lionel and Isella (Roy) Doyon.  Larry was a longtime resident of Bristol and Farmington, he retired from Pratt & Whitney, E. Hartford and was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol.  Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed spending his time at the home he built in Belgrade Lakes, ME.  As a grandfather, Larry took great delight in teaching his grandchildren how to hunt, fish, boating and building.  He was a Eucharistic Minister, the President of the St. Ann School PTA, and was very involved with Bazzaar/Dinners with the church.  Besides his wife, Larry is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Diane Doyon, of Bristol; two daughters and sons-in-law: Laurie and Robert Lavoie and Cherie and Paul Hylan, all of Bristol; four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Gerard, Richard and Grace, Bernard and Collete, and Armand Doyon, all of Maine: a sister: Yvette Bard, of Maine; six grandchildren: Jennifer Lavoie and her fiance Andrew Price, Tiffany and Cassandra Lavoie, Jonathan and Kimberly Hylan and Wyatt Doyon and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three brothers: Lawrence, Leon and Robert Doyon and a sister Irene Kidwell.    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (January 28, 2016), 11 AM at St. Ann Church, Bristol.
