Bristol woman is new executive director for Miss Connecticut

The Miss America Organization is pleased to announce the appointment of Nakiya Troth of Bristol as the new Executive Director for the Miss Connecticut  Organization.

Besides being a local titleholder and long-term volunteer, which includes serving as a local director and State Princess Program Director in the Miss Connecticut Organization, Troth was a vocalist in the “Liberty Misses” – a troupe that performed for veterans and active duty soldiers across the country and overseas. Troth is a property manager and cheerleading coach, winning numerous regional and state championships.

Under Troth’s leadership, the Miss Connecticut Organization will continue providing scholarship awards to contestants at the state and local levels, as well as empowering young women to strive for scholastic excellence, STEM initiatives, and being positive role models throughout the state of Connecticut, said a press release from the Miss America Organization.

Troth is joined by board members: John Fuller – President; Dr. David Goodkind – Vice President; and Justin Farnham – Secretary.

The state organization proudly looks forward to celebrating its 88th anniversary this June, with information to be released soon, said the perss release.
