Jennifer Hill isn’t just the woman behind SWAN Day CT. The former Bristol resident is one of the staple performers at the annual event.
SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day returns on Saturday, this time at Trinity-on-Main in New Britain.
Hill, a singer-songwriter who has been a staple on the Connecticut music scene for years, has been prepping for months for the ninth annual arts event, which includes musicians, burlesque performers, visual artists, crafters, fashion designers, and so on.
Along the way, Hill has been prepping her own music set for the Trinity-on-Main Stage.
Hill, also known as Murderous Chanteuse as well as Mama Swan, said she is “exploring (my) love of pop and electro music and have been working on the development of my live show.
Hill explained, “It is a whole new animal learning to play incorporating beats and tracks instead of live instruments. I have been working hard co-producing my new album with Asher Conduit of Pushing Static and I’m excited to finish it and debut it at festivals this summer.”
Jennifer wears many different hats as a musician. But she said she “also had much success recently with my career as a vocal coach. I’m currently mentoring both international music acts and Broadway singers.” With her students, Hill said, has started a new group called the Brat Pack, which is a teen singing group that performs at community events. “They will be performing March 18 at the Wigs for Kids fashion show hosted by Beauty Entourage at the Farmington Club,” said Hill.
