Vera Suslenko Zima, 88, of Forestville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday March 12, 2016.
Vera was born on September 22, 1927 in Bristol a daughter of the late Stephen and Tessie (Passachnuk) Suslenko.
During her career, Mrs. Zima was the Head of Personnel at Horton MFG and a corporate secretary at New Departure before leaving the job force to raise her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Zima Heath of Bristol; her son William Michael Zima of Terryville; her grandchildren Thomas Michael Zima, Bryon Joseph Heath, Matthew Michael Heath and Sarah Ann Heath; her great-grandson Hunter Joseph Heath; her sister Olga Petroff of Bristol and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband William J. Zima; her brother Peter Suslenko and her sisters Mary Duval, Helen Alverides, Anne LaRue, Pauline Mudry. and Christine Perbeck.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday March 15, 2016 from 5PM until 8PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol,
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 9AM from O’Brien Funeral Home to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM, followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
