Obituaries: Jeanne Lachance

 

Jeanne (Deblois) Lachance, 95, of Bristol, widow of Adalbert Borromee Lachance, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Countryside Manor.  Jeanne was born in St. Robert Bellarmin, Canada on February 26, 1921 and was a daughter of the late Edouard and Melina (Blais) Deblois.  She grew up in Canada and had worked on the family farm and raising her children before moving in 1970 where she then began house cleaning.  She was a very devoted mother, as she put her children’s needs before hers.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and knitting and had learned the art of embroidery at the age of 90.  She enjoyed all the time she spent with her grandchildren and was known to be a strong fighter as she was a Breast Cancer survivor.  Jeanne was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol, the Ladies of St. Ann Society and a member of La Rencontre . Mrs. Lachance is survived by four sons and daughters in law, Herman and Racheal Lachance, Ubald and Pierrette Lachance, Hughes and Marion Lachance, and Claude and Anne Lachance, all of Bristol; six daughters and four sons in law, Sr. Rosanne Lachance, Nicole and Michel Mercier, Carole and Roland Faucher, Johanne Lachance, all of Quebec, Canada, Claudine and Jacques Tanguay and Marthe and Andre Trudel of Bristol; a brother: Yves Deblois, of Canada; three sisters: Cecile Giroux, Paula Deblois and Sr. Solange Deblois, all of Canada; 16 grandchildren, Natalie (Tanguay) Bednarski, Michael Tanguay, Stephan, Alex, Bruce, Joey, Nicole, Derrick, Melissa, and Brian Lachance, Melanie and Jasmin Faucher, Maxime Mercier, Kevin and Shawn Trudel, and Sylvie (Lachance) Rousseau; 18 great-grandchildren; Ashley, Carisma, Melina, Shane, Nathan, Lucien, Olivia, Evelyn, Tyler, Megan, Jeremy, Cordelia, Simon, Lori-lou, Anne Sophie, Nicholas and Dylan and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers: Fernando and Laval Deblois and two sisters: Claire Lachance and Jemma Deblois.  Funeral services will be held Saturday (April 2, 2016) at 10:30 AM from Funk Funeral Home 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M.  Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum, Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday between 4 and 8 PM.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann Church Memorial Fund, 180 Laurel St., Bristol, CT 06010 or to Sr. Rosanne Lachance, for her Missionary work in Africa.  Please visit Jeanne’s memorial website at www.FUNKFUNERALHOME.com
