Sign up now for Mum Fest parade; Mum Festival volunteers needed now

Mum Festival Parade organizers are reaching out early this year for the Mum Festival Parade to give everyone enough time to plan for this great event. The parade is Sept 25, but groups and organizations are encouraged to reserve a spot now for this year’s edition of the Mum Festival Parade.

Organizers wrote in a press release, “As most of you know, the Mum Festival Parade is one of the largest in the State. This year’s theme is Bristol – ‘Best Kept Secrets.’ Bristol is a wonderful community, and there are so many hidden treasures to find. What a great way to promote our community and your business/organization this year.”

Schools, marching bands, clubs, churches, fire departments, scout groups, dancers, veterans groups, musical/theater groups, local businesses, car enthusiasts, and many more community organizations and individuals will take part in the 55th annual parade, stepping off at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25. Advance registration is required by Sept. 1. As always, there will be awards for floats and marching bands.

The Mum Festival and Mum Parade have been a part of Bristol History for over 55 years. The press release said, “Thanks to the support of the Bristol Exchange Club, Chamber of Commerce, City of Bristol, Our Mayor, City Council, and several city departments, the Mum Festival will continue its fine tradition for 2016.
