LivFree Yoga – Gentle movement is brought into the body by flowing yoga poses together and connecting with your breath. It is taught by Holly Peronace Zygiel. Chair Yoga: Wednesdays, 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. starting May 4. Chair Yoga with Practice: Fridays, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. starting May 6. Stretch and Relax: Fridays, 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., starting May 6.
Exercise Classes: Co-ed, Ladies Exercise, and Strength and Tone are three classes that combine aerobic workouts with muscular strength training. Taught by Nancy Plourde. Strength and Tone: Mondays, 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., starting May 2. Ladies Exercise: Tuesdays, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. starting May 3. Co-Ed Exercise: Wednesday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. starting May 4.
Line Dance: Learn the steps to dance as a group to popular songs. Taught by Jim Gregory. Intermediate: Thursdays, 10 to 11:30 a.m., starting May 5. Beginner – Thursdays, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. starting May 5.
Tap Dance: Learn basic tap movements while exercising. Great for coordination, balance and cardio. Taught by Amy Perales. Learn a routine to perform: Mondays, 1-1:45 p.m. starting May 2. Beginners Tap Dance – this class is for those that want to get their exercise by tapping. This class will not learn a dance routine. Thursdays 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. starting May 5
Zumba Gold: This easy to follow program is a dance fitness class designed for seniors. Taught by Joan Baptist Krampitz. Thursdays, 1 to 2 p.m., starting May 5.
Smovey: This unique exercise class uses vibroswing rings to stimulate metabolism, burn fat, and strengthen your circulation system. Taught by Jolanta Osoba-Olbrys. Mondays, 9:30 to10:30 a.m. starting May 2.
Painting: Painting classes teach basic techniques in a social and non-threatening environment. Taught by Dawn Lombardi and Penny Kindblom. Beginners: Thursdays 1 to 3 p.m. starting May 5. Intermediate: Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m. starting May 4. Discovering the World of Watercolor: Mondays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. starting May 2. Thursdays, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. starting May 5.
Quilting: Learn techniques to put patterns and shapes together to make lasting quilts. Taught by Gina Murphy. Beginner: Wednesdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., starting May 4. Experienced: Tuesdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. starting May 3.
Ceramics: Learn how to decorate and preserve ceramic pieces of your choosing. Taught by Sandi Soucy and Donna Morin. Mother/Daughter: Tuesdays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting May 3. Wednesdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. starting May 4. Wednesdays, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., starting May 4. Thursdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m starting May 5.
Jewelry Making: Learn basic jewelry making techniques. Taught by Nancy Petrocione. Fridays, 1 to 2:30 p.m. starting May 6.
Registration begins on Tuesday April 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the gym at the senior center on Stafford Avenueand will continue weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. In the main office. Classes are eight weeks long and the fee for each class is $16. See class details for additional supply fees. Checks should be made out to the Bristol Senior Center.
Senior Center membership is required to sign up for classes.
