BCHS InterAct helps St. Jude’s hospital

The BCHS InterAct Club raised more than $4,500 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at the Charity Cycle Challenge April 2. Through donations, St. Jude’s families never have to pay for anything and can be with their child throughout his or her treatment.

St. Jude is responsible for helping to push the pediatric cancer survival rate to 80 percent from 20 percent when they opened in 1962, said a press release from BCHS InterAct Club.

Club advisors Kelly Monahan-DiNoia and Valerie Guarino stated in the press release that the students were so impressed with the work of St. Jude’s Hospital that they have decided to donate half the proceeds from their upcoming Mr. BCHS pageant to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Hospital.
