The Vietnam Wall That Heals will be traveling through Southington and Bristol to its exhibition site in Bristol on June 8 at approximately 10:40 a.m. with an honor guard escort of approximately 200 veterans on motorcycles.
The escort will start at the Home Depot, 1816 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Southington/Milldale. Staging begins at 9:30 a.m. with an estimated departure 10:40 a.m.
The route is turn out of Home Depot, take a left turn on Clark Street, turn Left onto Route 10, left onto Columbus/West Center Street then a right onto West Street (Route 229), left onto Route 72 to its destination in Bristol on the Veterans Memorial Boulevard where it will be set up for the event. The estimated time of arrival is 11:15 a.m.
American Legion Post 2 out of Bristol is responsible for bringing the Wall That Heals here with help from America’s Freedom Defenders, American Legion Riders, Korean War Veterans of Bristol, the Bristol Veterans Council, many American Legion posts, VFWs, Disabled American Veterans chapters, Marine Corps League units, and many other veterans and social/fraternal groups from around the state as well as support from many businesses and community members alike.
