Martha (Langlais) Lizotte, 97, of Bristol, widow of Henry Lizotte, died on Friday (May 20, 2016) at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center. Martha was born in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada on March 23, 1919 and was one of 16 children of the late Edward and Lucy (Theriault) Langlais. She formerly lived in Canada and Maine before coming to Bristol in 1947 where she went to work for Wallace Barnes and Gemco before retiring. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Church, Bristol, and was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann Society and the Army of Mary. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making many quilts and baby blankets. She also enjoyed baking and everybody loved it when she made her donuts. Martha is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Hank and Darla Lizotte of Terryville and Melvin and Huguette Lizotte of Bristol; two daughters and sons-in-law: Jacqueline and Philip Taber of Bristol and Sylvia and Richard Caron of Terryville; a brother: Yvon Langlais of Bristol; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a three year old son, Joel Lizotte, and 14 of her brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (May 24, 2016) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Monday between 5 and 8 PM.
